Our journey began in 2000 with the founding of CarProof and a commitment to provide accurate details about a vehicle’s history and lien information to Canadians in the process of buying or selling used cars.
Over the next 18 years, our Vehicle History Report became increasingly more robust as we added thousands of data sources. We were also able to expand our suite of products into valuation with the Vehicle Valuation Report for car dealerships and a free consumer valuation tool.
In 2018, we officially became CARFAX Canada and have launched multiple products since then, including a Vehicle Trade-in Widget for car dealerships and History-Based Value.
2020 saw more major changes with a move into our new, state-of-the-art office space at 100 Kellogg Lane in London, Ontario. In 2022, CARFAX Canada officially became part of S&P Global after their merger with IHS Markit.
